OUR CLASSES

Our members value an environment that is safe, supportive, non-judgmental and non-intimidating—with a community that’s welcoming and encouraging, no matter what your fitness goal or skill level. Here, we put the most emphasis on the idea that consistent, small changes lead to big results. You don’t have to be perfect, but you should aim to do the little things well and understand that this leads to progress in all walks of life. We strongly promote a progression to mastery of movement, emphasizing the importance of moving well and staying injury-free.

EVERYONE STARTS WITH PERSONAL TRAINING

There are no exceptions to this rule.

We didn’t used to be so strict about this. If you were someone who had done our kind of training before, we would let you sign up for membership.  We know there is a much better way we could have been serving our current members and future members.

Now we know, and to allow ourselves to provide anything but the best just for the sake of adding members wouldn’t fit into our values.  Not only does everyone new to us start with personal training, but the number of sessions they need is 100% customized for them.

Everyone comes to us with different experiences in fitness, different training ages, different health concerns. Why would everyone fit into the same mold to learn everything we truly feel you should know before joining a bigger group?

During these personal training sessions, whether you are brand new to working out or have been doing this for 10 years, we are going to assess you joint by joint looking for limitations in ranges of motion, we are going to teach you specific movements and how we recommend you modify them based on YOUR ranges of motion, we are going to teach you about breathing and bracing, about rate of perceived exertion so you can understand intent of workouts. 
We are going to spend however many sessions it takes to make sure you of confident and competent, so when you do join the group classes, we know you feel safe and are safe.

Fitness is for everyone. We are not, and we are okay with that.

WHAT IS BIRTHFIT?

BIRTHFIT is a movement.It’s about expecting and postpartum moms taking charge of their bodies and their decisions, and supporting one another’s journeys—together and apart.

BIRTHFIT is an approach to birth.We challenge the status quo and ask the questions no one else asks. We read, research, experiment, and consolidate all the common sense, time-honored wisdom, and recent studies we can find and present that information to you through various education models. Our pillars are fitness, nutrition, mindset, and connection. We unconditionally support YOU—the birth mom & birth partner—to make the best decision for you and Baby.

BIRTHFIT is a state of readiness.Childbirth is perhaps the most physical, mental, and spiritual experience of a woman’s life. We want you to be ready in body, mind, and spirit for the experience of birth and the lifelong journey that follows.

BIRTHFIT is your support team.We are a team of practitioners, educators, chiropractors, coaches, nutritionists, fellow mamas, men, and women who are involved in our local communities and we are all rooting for YOU.

Masters+ Class

We are excited to announce the implementation of a class called Masters+!

Like it or not, we all get old and will have to deal with the changes associated with the aging process. However, to a very large extent we have control over the degree to which those changes impact our quality of life, because we are only as old as we believe we are.

In summary, attitude plays a huge role in figuring out how to achieve fitness as we get older!

This is a one hour class specifically designed with the needs and goals of both men and women ages 50 years and above. There will be a strong emphasis on gaining strength in the muscles around the joints to prevent and/or reduce pain for areas including hips, knees, and shoulders. Each extensive mobility session will be followed by a brief (5-10 minute) non-competitive workout.

The class will meet every Monday and Wednesday at 6:30pm and Saturdays at 11:00am.  The class has been provided a separated training room for live training and will also be available on Zoom for those looking to do the workout from the safety and comfort of their home.

CrossFit

We scale to your fitness level, so you get a challenging workout every time!  After completing your personal training sessions, individuals will be prepared to join traditional CrossFit classes. In these classes, participants will be executing a wide variety of movements with a large focus on proper mechanics. We are in no hurry to approach high levels of intensity; everything starts with mechanics and consistency. These classes are easily scalable, or can be made more challenging for experienced members. Movement efficiency is the main objective for everyone. These classes are perfect for individuals looking for a general physical preparedness program and to improve quality of life.
